Aero Leather Co Jarrow Marchers

Evening,

new to the leather fashion world and have found myself to be addicted to collecting leather jackets within the space of a month x4 aquired

I'm now on the lookout for a reasonably priced pair of boots to wear with them and have come across these boots from Aero Leather called "Jarrow Marchers"

Just wondering if anyone can recommend them or tell me of an alternative if not, according to Aeros website there stopping production on there boots due to a loss of craftsmanship so I'm considering buying a pair before that happens

Thanks

Just search "Heritage Boots YouTube," you'll get inundated with enough info for a month. :)

Scan the 70 pages of this thread, too:
Ah thank you all good info for a novice

Aero has them made for them by one of the Northampton makers - probably Cheaney who do a similar Jarrow boot but with a toe cap. At this price they are good value and Cheaney's are £450. But the sale is still on and they have similar ones at the same price as Aero's. Trickers may still be having their sale as well.

Proper Northampton manufactured bench made boots and shoes will last a lifetime if looked after and resoled when needed. Which they will do and bring them back to new looking.

The reason for the Aero sale isn't loss of craftsmanship though, and someone is blowing smoke up your arse there. The Northampton companies are still fairly healthy even in the current market.

I had a pair. Nice leather (CXL steer, Horween, really thick and supple), however the leather sole wore much easier and much much faster than any other of my shoes and boots (and believe me, I own a lot from several brands and several pricetags).
What is your budget? If you want a pair of real workboots (not safety boots though) that are built like tanks and won't yield then, as mentioned above, William Lennon's are the bee's knees.
If you are looking for a derby boot that is let's say a bit more "dressy" then there are many many options, depending on your budget and location: Berwick, Cheaney, Tricker's, Crockett n Jones, Carmina, Loake, Barker, Alden etc.

Check also the Herring shoes website, I have ordered quite a few times from them and I'm pretty satisfied:

probably Cheaney
I am 99% sure that they are made by NPS, at least they were when I got mine back in 2016. Check the leather soles and the stamp in the sole:

NPS are significant cheaper than Cheaney's - and of lower quality too.

I went for a pair folks, just purely as they had a pair in my size in the clearance section, lightly used but I don't mind

Turns out Aero Leather are discontinuing with these boots due to retirement and a lack of craftsmanship, I guess these will become quite rare in the future

This below is taking from there website:

Sadly, after 10 years making these for us, our second bootmaker has informed us that they no longer have staff with the specialist skills needed to make this boot due to retirements. Do not miss this opportunity to get what might be one of the last of these exceptional boots…as we say in Scotland “When will we see their likes again”.

Nice. So who in Northampton actually makes / made them for Aero?
My grandfather came over from Wales with other miners looking for work on one of the hunger marches. He wouldn’t believe current prices of boots of a kind handmade in provincial towns and villages the length and breadth of the land. Old newspapers and cardboard stuffed inside made holed boots last until it wore through requiring another layer to be added.
