Can you post a bigger close up of it ? It looks to be USAAF and I'm thinking "possibly" an Air Depot type, but a larger photos would help to be able to read "Motto" and details better, thanks !
One other "possibility" is a Para Glider Infantry unit, I've seen one that has "bees" on it similar to yours.
Is the name tab "W.D.Key" ? do you know what branch of service he was with that would narrow it down some ?

Thanks Emblemhunter, haven't done a search of W.D. Key, you have an Eagle eye to see those bees.Will do a search.
