449th FIS L-2A

First the jet... The 449th FIS was assigned to Air Defense of USA with F-94 all-weather interceptor.

Then the jacket: Superior Tog's L-2A with 96th FIS and 449th FIS patches. Unfortunately, the zipper was broken at four places and the Conmar slider was missing. I got one from a forum member (from an L-2A or B sleeve pocket zip). It goes well but it's very very difficult closing the jacket to the top. I could replace the zip but I prefer to keep the jacket original. Otherwise, this jacket is nice.

Hi Franck,
Another winner there! Beautiful 449th patch, any history with this one? I must come and see some of this gear in person, what air shows are you doing displays in this year?

All the best

Hi Stu,

Unfortunately not any display this year. :( Nor history with this jacket.

But you can come there and visit the collection when you want. I'm living two hours of train from Paris. ;)

If you're not planning on wearing it, leave it as it is. Fantastic patches. Blue nylon always looks great patched.
