Your opinions please

I started this on the Lounge, but am hoping to get more specific answers concerning leather here, but anything will help, and I value any opinion you'll care to share.

I am writing an article about the appeal of vintage clothing, be it collecting or for pure fashion reasons, and would love some input from you guys, what is it about that vintage deck jacket, leather jacket etc that makes it desirable, and maybe more so than a reproduction.

I'd love to know what got you started, something from childhood, family, an iconic film star etc...

Answers on the back of a picture postcard please, or just here will do

thats ok thanks, ended up being too much of a topic, so if the guy likes what i wrote have thought about a whole different one for leather.
