I had no idea that the Marine Corps ever messed with gliders, but evidently it is so. Allen, ain't you glad that you didn't enlist until thirty-three years after these photos were taken?
I found these in a National Archives site. They were taken at Page Field, Paris Island, S.C., sometime in 1940. By the way..the last photo was titled "Marine Corps Pilot", but I really don't think that's correct. Maybe the good folks at the National Archives just can't tell the difference between an A-2 and a M-422A.
