Looking again I can see the throat latch is wrong for a RW. The lack of top stitching on the cuffs might suggest a 1939 Werber, but I can't see if there is top stitching above the waistband. It's not the 1933 Werber, which has top stitching at the cuffs and waistband.
According to John Chapman the 39 Werber was the first Werber contract with only top stitching above the waistband, but not near the cuffs. I have not seen a 36 pattern close-up so can't verify this. Perhaps you can Grant? I know the 38 Aero had stitch lines in both places.
Yep, saw a '36 Werber a few years back with no sleeve top stitching. Nice jacket but was only a sz. 38. BTW, I saw a '38 Aero with no sleeve top stitching as well which just goes to show there's no absolutes in this crazy hobby.
