Hello gents

Not my cup of tea (I'm most on denison smocks), but here is a nice Windproof smock in a spendid condition
some repairs "war made" and a name in it
Named to a soldier of the Duke Wellington Regiment and dated 1943, the first year of utilisation of this pattern.

Thanks
Louis.

Thanks for the reply

Yep a great smock ,as they are often not named or in terrible conditions !

I'v search a bit about the 1st D.W Regiment :
The 'Dukes' also fought in the Italian Campaign. They took part in the Anzio Campaign, in an attempt to outflank the Gustav Line and force a German retreat from Monte Cassino. The 'Dukes' fought with distinction at the Battle of Monte Cece in October 1944 where Captain Arthur Burns was awarded a DSO and Private Richard Henry Burton of the 1st Battalion was awarded a Victoria Cross for his courageous action in the battle.
(Wiki of the 1 DWR)

A smock that had see Italian and German campaign
