Not sure putting an e-mail address in an eBay listing is necessarily a good idea. At least when someone contacts you via eBay message first you have some idea who they are.

I agree, it's not necessary and not a great idea. Once someone contacts you through Ebay Messages you can start replying from your email account directly anyway.
