Why is this B-15C priced so high?

I have no idea other than its blue. I have read some where that blue is rare, but still thats
alot of rare!!!! It doesnt even have the air corps decal on the shoulder. It could be someone
trying to scam people into thinking its rarer than it is? Somebody will chime in I am sure.

The seller has no idea what it is worth, that is why he has set the price high and is taking offers.
Blue nylon are harder to come by but B-15C's turn up fairly regularly. This one is in great condition,I would guess it would sell at less than half of the BIN price.

It's a size 40 and has the less desirable Conmar main zipper. I'd say a realistic price is well south of $500.

There was a time when B-15C jackets were routinely fetching quite high prices, some of them around the $1k-1.5k mark especially for those in really good condition. But those days are long gone. Still, a very nice condition B-15C which if the right buyer is found, $500 or even $750 might not be unachievable.

Jason, I agree that there was a time when early nylon jackets routinely commanded high prices but this particular jacket isn't in the greatest shape and it's just approaching the desirable size range. A 42 or 44 with Crown zipper would do a lot better in my experience, but I guess the market will tell us what it's worth. Ebay seller Aviationetc has far better examples in larger sizes and even his astronomical prices are somewhat lower than what this seller is asking.

Personally I'd only buy this one for resale and wouldn't pay more than $300 or so. I paid far less than that for the superior example in my collection, pre-restoration of course. :D
