i think they mean which leather jacket maker could have made it for ORVIS.
I have a pair of their boots (with sheepskin inside), on the boots it says ORVIS and inside it says made in Canada, some boot maker must have made it for them.
Doubt it's Avirex (even when they made a decent jacket), definitely not Schott.
It does however strongly resemble two different jackets I have from the 80's.
Protech Leather (Jim Goodson)out of Mass or Split-S Aviation (predecessor to Gibson & Barnes).
The only thing making me certain is that neither used HH.
