Who is this guy?

Member here? First, he has an unofficial reserve(prohibited by Ebay). Funny to read his conditions, threatens to pull the auction 12 hrs before close if he doesn't get the "price set in his mind". I see it was never pulled from auction, and closed with a winning bid of $566. States "no payment" from winner.
Now it's relisted for the third time after less than 30 days(resolution limit?) with no negative feedback given to the "nonpaying" winner. Shill bidder?
Is the winner here? Seller?
I could never bid on such an auction - I suspect if I got a deal(like $566), he would make an excuse and never send it. If you can't deal with that then set a reserve!
Not trying to slander but this type of "dealer drama" nauseates me and is getting more common.

The guy does not appear to be a member here unless he uses a different name from the one on Ebay, which may be the case. The poor state of the collar is clearly a reason why the jacket is not going higher than it did last time. Under current Ebay rules he could leave the non paying buyer a non payment strike, but sellers can't leave negative feedback anymore. He should not have an unofficial reserve, but start the auction at the minimum price he'll accept or set an official reserve. I would avoid this seller and his jacket.

Perhaps. But can you just stop an auction like that? Well, I guess he has three times now so.......
I'll bet a pint it shows up for sale again.

I wonder why he's acting this way?
What is he trying to achieve?
Wouldn't he be better off with a BIN with best offer?
Is his aim way too high? What's the value of this jacket anyway?

just trying to understand.

I can only think he's trying to avoid paying fees, which if the auction at below reserve price I think the seller still has to pay.

Check it out! This time, it had bids of 6 or more and up to $600 - 800. Suddenly it is closed with 0 bids. What an ass! How can he do that unless they are his shill bids?

Most of the serious bids will come in the last few seconds, but I guess he doesn't realise this ... he never lets it get that far.

This time there were 8 bids, $450.00 was the highest I could see ...

  • Cancelled: US $450.00
Explanation: The seller ended the listing early and cancelled all bids.

Thanks. For some reason mine showed 0 bids. I usually get to see the history.
Not only are the high bids at the end(that's the only way I bid anymore) but, through multiple auctions and excuses - not to mention his bizarre, defensive description, he has turned off many potential buyers.
I think some people do so much work to avoid a little work or fees that they end up doing/paying more. Or in this case, bathing in frustration while losing your reputation.
Each auction has ended lower than the one before.
