Watches to wear with your flight jackets...

I typically try my best to wear the watch when I have on long sleeves on to cover it. Less likelihood that I'll bash it against something or damage the crystal. It's still far from perfect though. It's been polished at some point and lost the areas of brushed finishing. There's plenty of minor scratches and patina on the case too.

While I wouldn't wear it doing manual labor no reason not to wear this (or any) watch whenever you want.. if it gets a ding or 2 ..who cares.. enjoy your time with it..

Perfect combo! Very nice watch... :p
(I love too Oris big crown pointer date, or Hanhart 417 ES)
I was actually conflicted about purchasing the Big Eye or a 417 ES. The Hanhart was out of stock at Watchbuys at the time, which made the decision a little easier. The Hanhart was also almost $1k more after taxes, since I was able to purchase the Longines from a reputable gray market dealer at a pretty deep discount.

I really like the original Hanhart 417 ES, which is the twin sister of my Vixa Type 20, but the reedition doesn’t give my the same feeling.
The crystal instead the plexi which reduce the dial opening plus the distance between the sub dial (closer to the center on the reedition) make me find it nice but not really attractive!

The Longines Big Eye is definitely my favorite between these two !
