We had The Wombles on telly when I was a small nipper in the 70s. A lot of our kids TV was British stuff back then so The Wombles, Rainbow, Magic Roundabout, Play School, etc, etc are my earliest TV expriences Jonny. I had a Wellington Womble toothbrush holder thingie which I was very fond of ;-)
‘Underground, overground….’ Bit underweight for a Womble! Parsley the lion was from the Herbs-Dill the dog, Tarragon the dragon, Pashana bedi. Roobarb and Custard, great stuff. I particularly liked the Clangers. And Pogles Wood.
H R, The Herbs, The Wombles, The Flowerpot Men, I remember them all.
Incidentally I had a Dill that I could sit on, thought it was enormous at the time, lol.
I think there was only one maybe two channels on, so you took what you could get. That or nothing. Oh, ya we lived in a pothole in the middle of the road.
