Going through my jackets lately, I came across this G-1 from Vietnam Era that I got a while ago; RALPH EDWARDS SPORTSWEAR, INC. from “B” series, fiscal year 1962.
This example is in superb condition, all the parts are original to the jacket, mouton collar has a chocolate tone, lining is spotless, knits are mint and zipper working perfectly. (Owning 3 jackets of this specific contract, I noticed they tend to have a slight variation of the tone of the material used between cuffs and waistband)
It comes exquisitely decorated with patches that tell the history of his original owner.
Left chest depicts a name tag, impressed “BILL KENNEDY LT. USN”.
Right chest depicts a very rare large VP-MS-3 patch.
Left shoulder depicts an Japanese-made Air Transport Squadron One patch.
Right shoulder depicts a VR-21 patch.
I wish I could find more jackets in this condition...
That being said, here are some pictures to entertain... Stay safe!
