Here's a really neat post war picture of a vet wearing his painted A-2 "Lady Luck" while fishing for muskie.

I remember seeing this A2 photo in Life Magazine sometime in the 50's - long after it was published during the war. There was also a full frontal view of this guy and his groovy flight jacket. Do you have that to share with us as well?

No, I accidently stumbled across this picture while doing a google picture search for muskie!

I'd also like to see some more pics of this jacket as well!

The front view should be in the muskie search - I remember it well. In the front view, he's holding up the muskie with a big grin on his face - on the pilot's face, I mean! A WW II vet home again, but still wearing the war on his back!

Here's a pic of my grandfather wearing his leather jacket after a fishing trip in the 50's. Nowadays I believe a A-2 would be the last thing any of us would wear while fishing!

Wow! - I'm amazed by the fact that I remembered these pics of this particular vet in his leather flight jacket with his muskie catch. I was in my teens when I saw this in the fifties and had uncles who had been in the USAF during the war. I was always fascinated by their war stories and their great looking flight gear and clothes This picture must have captured all that. Good to see it again.I wonder if he still has that A2.

Great pic! Looks like the other gentleman is wearing an M-1951 field jacket.

Very nice pics. I often wear my old ELC house while fishing. I consider all my jackets to be worn as much as possible, in every possible circumstance.

Regards,

Shiloh

Ok. Anybody ever try an online search for vet’s painting their houses while wearing A-2’s? There must be thousands of photo’s! :D

Ain't that the truth! I can't count how many jackets I've seen with paint smears all over them. G-1s, MA-1s, L-2Bs...they all suffered the same fate. There must have been some statute back in the 'fifties and 'sixties, that to paint your house you had to be willing to sacrifice a perfectly good flight jacket.
