I didn't expect to see a brown painted Talon zip! Nice!!
Was this one refinished, or did it use that less common zipper?

This was the first contract to use an auto-lock Talon zip. Most had an M-39 Talon with a rectangular puller, but some had the bell shaped puller like this one.

thanx, andrew. i dont have the jac at hand for the moment, but as i remember, the stopper isnt painted, but it does have a kind of coating. i will look at it closely this weekend. what i do remember is that the teeth on this one and some other pre war talons are slightly bigger then the teeth on subsequent talons.

Your jacket has a Talon no. 5 with a 6mm track, which was the same size as all wartime Talons. Earlier Talons had a 7.2mm track.
