Agreed. Lots of bike jackets from the late 30's early 40's get labeled as Luft jackets.

Sure they did, lots of them. The point others are making is that there's little by way of hard evidence to suggest that jacket is anything but a period bikers jacket. You only have the word of the seller that it's a Luft worn 'Messerschmitt' (whatever that means) jacket. As they say 'buy the item, not the story'.
