Cool shot but I miss the diversity you used to see on carrier decks... F-14s, A-6s, F-18s, etc. Now it's all Hornets. More economical I'm sure but lacking a certain something.

Our French partners can provide us with planes, or when they don't want to fight we can have American planes

I was kind of thinking about that. The limited variety of aircraft. So what happens when the F/A-18 airframes crack or some structural flaw where they need to ground them all temporarily??? Not the best tactical sense................

I feel old! When I was on the Enterprise we had F-14, A-6, A-7, A-3, RA-5C, S-3, E-2B, plus the Helos.
