Toys McCoy "Helmet Protective" BUCO

I saw pics of those helmets years ago in the McCoys yearbook and was attracted rigth away

I never found one of these in the specific design for sale without selling my kidneys to get one so it stayed on the bucket-list since then

Well finally i managed to get hands on one of them:

Original manufacturer of the "BUCO" helmets is "Josepg Buegeleisen Co." which are famous for their motorcycle helmets in the 50ies to 70ies.

Label is bogus off coarse but like the design anyway - and - most important - it fits my 58cm / 7 and a quarter " head

Anyone else who owns a BUCO?

I too have had a OMG moment when I first saw them, but as you said, $$$$. For motorcycle kit, Buco repros is not that high on my list, but like anything Mccoy I am attracted and curious to see and enjoy the level of quality.

My main problem is the fit and I accept no compromise in helmets but that one is really, really nice.

By the way, where did you find it, Japan auctions? And how is the fit ?

actually the helmet found me.

A loose friend of mine offered it to me - didn’t even know he owns one.

The helmet is a size “S” and fits like a glove. I wear my glasses every day and it is still enough space to wear ‘em without getting pressmarks on my head.

Well I usually run “L” or “XL” in motorcycle helmets the BUCO is my only one in S that fits …

The helmet ain’t new but was mainly sitting on a shelf barely been used

Fittings and straps feel and look premium to me. Not sure what material the shell is made of but I doubt it would have made it through the strict German traffic- respectively safety-equipment standards

Yeah i was surprised also ...

My head in cm is a 58 which "translates" into american size about a 7 1/4 or so ...
