Too good to be true?

They do say "replacement" Talon, but it is period, and I've seen similar zips on other jackets too.
The knits do look original to me... nothing suspicious jumps out at me from the photos. It does look very nice indeed... hopefully its not too good to be true.

I would guess that the replacement of the zipper is a bit off.In all the pictures that are close up,the wind-flap seems to be folded back suggesting that there are probably 2 rows of stitching down the front of the jacket. Some people will not mind this,personally......not to my taste.

I emailed the seller asking about odors. He said the lining smells like cigarette smoke, don't know to what degree :?

The Talon zip is almost certainly late war or post war, not 1940 as our friend asserts. I have seen this zip used extensively on late 40s jackets. The waistband is original, but the wristlets are replacements made of a coarser weave. The jacket has issues with the leather on the shoulders-flaking and possible rot. Apart from these issues its OK I guess.

I agree, the scattered dark stains and upper back look to be a problem. I would proceed with caution on this one.

I guess when the seller says it's a "plane" A-2, they mean the owner flew in a plane. Interesting use of overlay verbiage.
