This Day in History...

Sorry, this is personal.
My father was born in Ukraine. Grandfather left to fight when the war began. A grandmother with three children including my father came under Nazi occupation from 1941 to 1943. She told me a lot about the atrocities of the Nazi soldiers at that time. Their house in the village was destroyed and many civilians were killed and then tortured.
Therefore, when I look at this photo and this signature with the date, I think that maybe behind it is the pipe of their house and maybe their neighbors (they were all killed by Wehrmacht soldiers), who knows.
Everyone has this feeling here at the genetic level.

I'll delete the thread Dmitry.

Sorry once again, it wasn't my intention to offend.

EDIT: I can't seem to delete the thread but I'll delete my postings from it.

We'll move on perhaps?

Commenced on 01 May 1945. Our Brigade Headquarters is known as 'Tarakan Lines'. The Army Aviation Austers contributed quite a bit.
