Just pick up a pair of these boots , size 10 1/2.
They are in brand new condition. Price 80.00 us
They appear to be fairly true to originals except for the soles and heals which are heavily treaded.
I guess I could get them resoled but will see what they look like once they arrive.

great score! I saw a pair of these that were re-soled with the proper leather soles and they were the best repro 36'ers I had ever seen. Amazing price too.

Thanks Hawkeye
I seem to have got lucky as there was very little interest shown in them.
They are about a size and 1/2 large for me.
The seller bought them in his size but the fit was tight so he was going to get a larger size.
This makes me think that they fit tight, so me being a size 9, they should fit alright I hope.
Will start looking for a reputable cobbler to resole them in the original leather look.

My
Cockpit 36'ers just arrived and a I am very happy with them.
They fit perfect and IMHO are the most accurate of the repros
out there except for the treaded soles
Once that is done I will post pics.

I have posted pics in the Repro section of the boots with proper soles now applied .

These were on offer in the early/mid 1990s in both brown and black. They also offered a repro of the canvas-topped 1939 pattern boots. All with the same Vibram soles. The pattern is okay -- all were produced by Hawkins. The leather is a bit stiffer than original and the interiors more white than the off-white/ecru of the originals. Nice boots though.

I left my lugged soles on. Leather soles are extremely slippery on anything but dry surfaces.
