I have seen this zip used on several A-2's, all of which were later contracts such as the Dubow W33-038 ac 1755 (11631) and the Aero 18775-P contract. They seem to always have a yellowish anodizing on the puller and often traces of a reddish-orange paint on the stopper.
The stopper is designed somewhat differently on this "3" than the design of the stop on other common Talons used in WWII era A-2's.
As far as the "3" on the face of the stop, I am not sure of the significance of it.
