searching info regarding bazelot's post with AMM, i discover this sympathic photo of a pilot (1948) in a lounge equipped with a splendid jukebox.
another american dream for me, having an authentic Wurlitzer or Rock'Ola in my living room.

That wall appears to be constructed of block. If so, I'm not sure I'd install the clock any differently today. :D

Heh - heh, once again -- it's 1948, in small town USA! ;)

Watchman, I've seen walls like that in small, old diners around Northern Wisconsin and Northern Michigan in the past, diners that have been open since the same circa as the photo, I believe that's actually some kind of wall covering akin to linoleum, maybe even some composite material. Was probably pretty popular because it was cheap!
