Great photos. Notice that the negative was processed on the reverse side in the 352 Fighter Squadron group picture.

"Flit" was an insecticide popular in the era of the 30s and 40s that used a hand pump sprayer, or atomizer, to administer it to the the the pests in question, to kill them. There was a famous print ad series for flit where one guy sees some wasps coming toward his friend and himself, and so cries out "Quick, Henry, the FLIT!!" Clearly the bomber is being indentified with the spray device used to kill pests, in the AAF's case, the enemy being bombed.

"Flying fit gun" c'est le pistolet vaporisateur d'insecticide (illustré sur le nose art) pour abattre les "nuisibles" Hitler, Mussolini et Hiro Hito, l'ancêtre de nos bombes insecticides.

in fact it was so evident....and i did'nt saw this....and how can i forget my father and his FLYTOX in hand (yellow bottle with green lettering).
