Star Sportswear 55J14

Here it is: very newly arrived, courtesy of Mowgli.

Fits perfectly - amazing to think that this leather is 60 years old. The condition is amazing, and the contrast between the ELC G-1 (which I also liked very much) is like night and day: thickness and quality of the leather, cut, drape, style, etc etc etc. I'm keeping it!!

Terrific fit!
Looks like you walked off the set of "Bridges at Toko-Ri" to shave and return as Brubaker's wing man.
Congrats....

Thanks for the compliments, chaps - it's definitely the one. It is quite incredible that the leather has survived this long in such perfect condition. It's flawless - really supple, lovely pebbly graining. Amazing work on the collar, zipper and knits - particularly the zipper, a really nice period piece sewn in using the original needle holes.

Now I've got to hang it up and forget about it for five months...

Have you got your own tropical Micro Climate in Devon that the rest of us in England are
missing out on !!

This is England.
Our summers are not that good !!!

Wear it in good heart when you do have the weather.
It looks a beauty

Enjoy the jacket in good health,; it fits you wonderfully! The jacket's leather is incredible, and coupled with the dimensions, it is a unique jacket.

Wow, what a fit Pip, no wonder you look so happy (actually i'm sure in this shot you're saying "Andrew-you sorry bastard for coming second" ). Seriously you've done really well and i'm only joking of course...

I'm still not sure that a Navy jacket is for me but this does look cool.

good fit, try and keep it out of all that sun you get in devon..
Yeah, right... Actually I'll probably buy myself a slightly less perfect/rare beater to wear when we're having our semi-permanent Devon monsoon rains...

Don't worry - I'm smiling with relief because the wife approves of it!

Sean;

The days of the "lend-lease" are over. You need to return those beautiful jackets to the country of their origin!
Very nice indeed!
