What are these snaps used for that are sewn to the chest?

Could it be some sort of late-war field mod to attach something like an oxygen mask, similar to the leather strips on the B-15A?

Definately a field mod of some sort. Interesting. If somone has a flight gear manual it should be easy to work out what piece of equipment had four snaps in a row. Nice jacket. Not often you see a patched B-3. Should sell for a pretty penny.

The patch is highly questionable. I've seen this jacket in person. It's been for sale at the Minneapolis Militaria show for the last 3 shows. 1 1/2 years.
I would steer clear, but everyone here is a adult, and can make up their own mind.
The jacket itself was in good shape as far as I could see.
