hello all,
i endleslly took time to visit a museum not so far from me.
this museum is located in Haut-le-Wastia.
on 12 may 1940, the village and its surroundings were at the center of a battle during wich french and belgian soldiers demonstrated exemplary courage. the village was retaken twice, the last pocket of resistance refusing to surrender and falling on 14 may to enemy tanks. the museum and the splendid memorial perpetuate their memory and pay tribute to those men who fought with all they had for the defense of our territory and liberty.
you may discover the terrible days of may 40 in 8 themed rooms.
one of those rooms is dedicated to the war in the air over Belgium with 5 nice manniquins and a rare piece of the tail of a french Morane Saulnier.
here follow some photos.
