Size 48 ELC A-1 on the bay.

Spotted this Eastman A-1 on Ebay, I'm somewhat interested but am looking for some insight. From the photos, which aren't all that great, it appears to be dark seal goatskin. Is this an older rendition? Photos on the ELC site show a more russet hide. Is there a preference ie. older pattern compared to new? I'm a big fan of dark seal finishes and don't really have a preference when it comes to goat or capeskin. I guess at this point I'm wondering if this is the one to get or hold out and do more homework to find something better. If anyone else here has been looking for one of these and hasn't seen this auction yet feel free to pull the trigger.

Sold, cool! Someone got a good deal. Hopefully a member of the forum. Really wanted the jacket, didn't want to spend the money.

It's not the older pattern, which was in russet steerhide, and not quite as accurate as it was created from photos. This jacket is capeskin, and from a small run of dark seal, grainy skins, made as test samples for the current pattern.

Subsequently sold on the reissue page, members dadgad, and Hamsterbear, were among the buyers.

Thanks David. I've been reading through the Anything and Everything A-1 thread and noticed the jackets you are referring to. They look nice and I guess I'm glad the seller didn't provide better photos, I probably would have made an impulse buy. Realistically, I have two new to me A-2s that I haven't even been able to wear yet, and I really want something shearling (much more practical in my area when winter hits). Not even going to mention the ever lengthening want list!! Appreciate the input.
