Beware of Spiewak A-2's. They are prone to dry rot.

Yes the goatskin used by Spiewak is prone to rot and it is quite rare to find a robust example today.

Perhaps that's why I don't see so many. Nice jacket here with great graining. Nonetheless, I think I would have to pass on one with everything but the hide replaced. If the zip was NOS and followed the original stitch holes maybe....... In this state, not an investment to me.
