a very rare bird indeed. sharing aspects of both the united a-2s, and spiewaks. though i would not be supprised if it was made by cable. some of the stitch patters are not unlike navy m-422s. most likely this a-2 was a "test" pattern, and never put into full production. i have never seen one in the flesh...so to speak, only referenced in books.

Victor, I'm not sure where Cable came from, but when this contract was discussed sometime ago John Chapman suggested it was made by Gordon and Fergusson, which does make sense as it has some features found on M422s.

ahso. i mentioned cable because of their having made other "no names", and because of the wide sleeves. g&f?, yup, could be. wheres the thread?

This was 18 months or so back and my have been on the Fedora Lounge. The other contender is apparently W&G. If you email John he may be able to shed more light on this unusual contract.
