Hello,

No idea about who is this seller.
But beware if you want a 100% correct headset the plug should be the black one, not the red.

I just bought a WWII USMC Hamilton watch from him outside Ebay. I hope it will work out fine. He is not very responsive to emails (and that is an understatement :))

Tim,

Over the years, I have had AAF & USN headsets with both red and black plugs and never thought anything about it. If the black one is 100% correct, then when was the red one used?

Thanks!

Hello,

Black plug was made for the R-14 earphones and red plug was for the ANB-H-1 earphones.
Of course this is theory and during wartime I'm sure that an airman who broke the plug didn't care if the plug he found for change was red or black ! ;)

Thanks Tim!

I never thought about this detail before, so now I am going to have to start looking at these headsets more closely. Somewhere I bet there is an explanation for the use of the two colors.

I know of the seller. I've brought from him in the past. I believe his name is John.
My dealings with him went alright.

Well I received the watch yesterday. It was described as running and it does not run at all. I am kind of pissed especially since he now no longer replies to my emails. I hate it when sellers are like this. We did the deal outside Ebay so I can't even leave a negative feedback. Packaging was atrocious. He put the watch as is with zero protection in a USPS small Priority box. I had never seen anything like this before. I would not be surprised if the watch broke while in transit. I guess buyer beware with this seller.
