Reproductions for sure, he's got a bunch of real stuff but I don't think these are Patch King either. They sold tons of patches (machine made originals and reproductions to the collector market) These are just another patch painter, I've seen them before and probably very early, but I doubt he could have supplied PK the quantity needed to accommodate their market. One I would call a fake is the 531st BS (Donald Duck on sheepskin) as it seems we are supposed to believe this was painted on a B3 and removed, see how it's falling apart little by little.

These are not Patch Kings, but rather contemporary fakes created and aged for no purpose other than to deceive.

The eBay seller may or may not know, as he could have bought them in a collection. The sad thing is he is getting enough money from these that either, he will be convinced the "experts" on eBay have spoken regarding their originality or that happily people are more gullible than he thought.

To answer your question, yes many buyers are naive, but there are also some very creative crooks out there.
