If it's AN-J-4, it's 100% RMNZ

If it was from New Zealand wouldn't the text would be in English not Japaese ?
The so-called RMNZ is just a factory in New Zealand that makes leather goods for the old RM.In 2001, THE old RM went out of business and a new RMJ was established in Japan, but the New Zealand factory was unable to use the RM label for the Japanese market, so it launched THE FEW brand, while it continued to use the RM label for markets outside Asia. It's all a matter of international trademark copyright.

Although the old RM is a worldwide company, its headquarters are in Japan, and its promotional magazine is published in Japan

That was very enlightening for those of us who didn’t even have flight jackets on our mind back then. Thank you!

I think RMJ is a separate company entirely, also RMNZ closed in 2015.
Three labels for comparison the last 2 from Anj4's the first from a RMJ B6, look at the cursive scriptView attachment 179421 View attachment 179417View attachment 179419
Yes, RMJ after 2001 is a completely different company than the old RM before 2001.After the collapse of the old RM, the old RM's former Japanese agent acquired the RM brand and formed a new RMJ.However, during the early years of the new RMJ, from approximately 2001 to 2005, the new RMJ was still in charge of product development by Hiroshi Okamoto, who left RMJ in 2005 to form his own TOYS MCCOY brand.Basically, the RMJ after 2005 has nothing to do with the old RM except its name.

The Old RM's New Zealand leather factory did not stop production after the closure of the old RM, but has continued to sell products under the RM brand in markets outside Asia. However, they could not enter THE Japanese market with this name, so they registered THE FEW trademark in 2004 to enter the Asian market, but at the same time, they did not seem to stop using the RM trademark in Europe and America, I even saw products with the name of RM on the collar but the logo of THE FEW sewn into the pocket.

Until 2015, when the New Zealand plant closed, the so-called RMNZ stopped at this time.

However, THE FEW brand did not stop immediately, they moved from New Zealand to the Philippines, and in the following 2016 and 2017, they tried to produce some products, but the quality of these products produced in the Philippines could not reach the previous high, so they completely stopped production in 2017, and never appeared again.
