The fellow in the picture looks very familiar.
Was one of his eBay auctions linked to earlier?

Aviation Etc. sells a lot of stuff on eBay and so comes up here from time to time. I think this jacket has been posted here before -- an original United Sheeplined with a reline and Good Wear label, if memory serves.

Edit: Yup, previously discussed here -- viewtopic.php?f=20&t=12098

Thanks guys

If it is original but with new label/repairs etc its a bit naughty not to mention this in the description

He has been trying to sell this restored jacket for quite along time and will going on doing so for along time unless he reduces the price a lot!

I'm on the look out for my very first original in a 46/48

Not looking for an absolute bargain, but something a little more affordable :)

If you are thinking of wearing it, which size do you actually need?

I've been looking for a vintage WWII in a 48/50. And yes, if its in good condition, I'll wear it.

Yes, I would like to wear it

I have two repro's, a 46 and a 48 - 48 is obviously slightly less of a trim fit but still fine

To be honest, I'm a dithering a bit :?

I'm freelance and have just finished a contract

Just waiting to hear if I have secured a new piece of work and then I'll be fine :)

Not to be a smart ass, but that does not tell us much. Depending on the make of repros you own, you could either be a short fat guy with a hugh beer belly....or a tall skinny guy with monkey arms....or something in between.

The one thing that I know for sure, is that in your size range there is a wide variation in how original jackets actually fit....much wider than in the smaller sizes. Fit varies by maker, but there also seems to be a lot of jackets that have 46 and up size tags sewed in them to fill out contracts....meaning the size number does not always mean a thing.

I don't mean to be hard on you. The point here is since your size is going to be extra expensive, you need to do some more homework to have a chance of avoiding total disappointment.

Good luck!
