It is such a shame that this jacket does not have the name of the pilot on it as provenance with these jackets is everything. This particularly contract dates to the 1943 fiscal year (July 1942-june 1943), but as the AVG was disbanded on 2nd July 1942, with the Hells Angel Squadron being discharged on 4th July it is highly unlikely it saw action with a member of the AVG. It may have been worn in the subsequent 14th Air Force. Although the painted Hells Angel patch is old it is likely to date from post 1942, perhaps added by the pilot who formerly belonged to the AVG. Unfortunately many so called AVG jackets are not quite what they seem.

Interesting jacket. Didn't they usually place the squadron insignia on the left breast?
That one looks like it is from a stencil, rather than hand painted.

Yes it may well be stencilled and the pose of the girl is quite different from others I have seen. I would be very surprised if it sells for the BIN.

From the few photos I've seen of the Angel painted on ac or jackets, seems she was depicted in various poses, but that jacket in the auction is the first I've noticed of her standing like that
