Hey guys new to this forum and looking forward to collecting some jackets, I just want to make sure I know how to store them properly, I’ve heard that you shouldn’t put them in plastic but i use a plastic sheet to cover the top to protect them from dust, should be jackets be ok? Or should i go with a cloth covering.

i dont have a closet i can use at the moment image.jpg

Plastic isn’t that bad, at least in the short term, especially if it isn’t sealed, as yours doesn’t appear to be. Honestly, I don’t bother with covering jackets. What you DO want to be careful about is hanging them up. Even suit jacket hangers are rather narrow and will stretch the leather, and create creases at the shoulders as the jacket gets older. I used pool noodles to make my jacket hangers into leather jacket hangers and that worked out well:

you also need hangers that are not as angled as 99% of them are. you will get creases eventually as most hangers have shoulders that are too droopy these Aero ones are excellent. I found some cheap plastic ones that are very slightly angled, I use two of them per jacket.
