Puzzeled by this listing??

Seller says he was issued this jacket in 69, but then posts the reading on the label which reads:
"Jacket, Flyer's Intermediate, Type G-1,
Size 42, MIL-J-7823E (AS),
Ralph Edwards Sportsman, Inc., 8415-00-268-7800,
DSA100-77-C-1518"

I thought the 77 after the DSA100- indicated the year the jacket was made? Am I mistaken on this??

Gone, but not forgotten.

No, you are correct ... well it's the fiscal year of the contract, so near enough.

Perhaps the seller had an earlier jacket that was replaced, and he has now forgotten. People often have stories that don't add up, when they're selling older items. It pays not to argue, just buy what you see ...

Or in this case, not buy. ;)

This is very common, especially with Navy jackets. They look very similar over the years and the vet that wore them doesn't know them apart like us jacket nuts do.
