Poughkeepsie A-2 Mint!

Wonderful almost mint example. The nips to knits are the only defects. Yes it could be a new GW. The BIN is a little high, but as the seller says how often does such a fine example come up for sale? It is so good one would almost be afraid to wear it.

Everyone who looks at this mint jacket, take a step back, look at the cut, the collar, the leather itself, even the zipper. Answers on a postcard.

I'll probably be shot down for saying it as I know this is one of the iconic designs of our time and that is in incredible condition for one 70-year old item of clothing and maybe, maybe, it's just the way it's presented but...to me that's a really bland-looking jacket with no character.

In my clumsy way that's what I was getting at. It's looks awful. Maybe it's because it's so crumpled.

does anyone here doubt its an original? If so, what are your observations or do we all/most all agree its 100% legit. The seller is pretty on the up however I think there were some issues with the authenticity of some items. (I question some of the patches sometimes). I this seller might have been a forum topic before. Anyway, back to the jacket ................ ?

Jacket is fine. Starting price is waaaaay too high IMO though. It had been proven that the seller more than likely unknowingly sold some fake patches, but had always refunded the money in such situations.

The jacket is 100% original. I currently own two size 44s and mine have had more wear than this one and have developed nice characters. I agree with Jeff the starting price is too high.

Awesome example of a pretty much unissued jacket. This is likely what they looked like when the supply sarge handed them out. How much do you guys think it will go for?

Really no doubt from me as well in re original or not (well, a little but I feel its legit) however I am not too sure the starting price is too out of line. This thing is in the most MINT condition one could ask for. Starting at $2,100 eliminates many high hopes for bidders but won't a mint jacket like this get about that much when its over? Maybe a few hundred less but not much. Perhaps I am off target here.

Paying $1,000+ for a jacket with lots of wear or medium wear is average, so this mint job seems priced within reason, yes high but A-2's are really getting up there. If it fit and I had the cash, I would bid. Its one of those jackets where its possibly worth selling a few "worn" ones off to be able to own ;)

??????????????????????????

Thanks guys. It was a late decision to snipe it and I expected it to go higher. Yes I will be selling some jackets to off set the costs of this one, an all original Poughkeepsie in a size 44 and a near mint size 46 27753 A2. So look out for them in the next few weeks!

BTW the 1940 Aero arrived today and its superb. Pictures will be posted in the next few days. :)
