Pocket flap discoloration

Does anyone have an explanation as to why my pocket flaps are discolored? They have this sort of ashy look to them. Normal? Something I need to keep an eye on?

Just looks like wear to me, probably the area that gets the most abrasion.

dampen a rag with water, and wipe the flap [s ]. if its mold, that should get rid of it. than again, it could just be wear as 47 wrote.

It's just the buckle/straps of your bag rubbing on the finish of the leather
Nothing to worry about.
I know the feeling of "patina" on expensive products .Once you have enough marks on it you won't care anymore
