Hi Everyone,

Looking like a good day here in Toronto, the sun is out and we're looking at some blue skies, finally. Hope you're being treated to the same wherever you are. I found this jacket but have no idea who made it. Looks like perhaps vintage Harro given the waist treatment, or even Hein Gericke, but there is no manufacturer label. It sports Opti and RUHR zip pulls. Any thoughts? Thanks much everyone, looking forward to the help. Enjoy the day.

Understand… but with all due respect … and with no rudeness intended . I’m not sure that you have grasped the focus of this forum. On at least a couple of occasions people here have explained that generally the areas we tend to have knowledge of are military jackets and vintage jackets . This is what most would consider a 1970s to 1980s Mall jacket . We generally don’t deal with these jackets much because they were varied in styles and made cheaply in very vast numbers mostly by unknown makers. Once again not trying to be rude just trying to explain why you might encounter a less than enthusiastic response to your post .
Regards

B-Man2, thanks for the response and I'm not ruffled in any way, I know the focus is on military styles. The only reason I've posted these jackets is because in the description of the Vintage Forum is specifically lists motorcycle jackets. I just figured that while collectively you all were scholars on military jackets, pants, and the like, there might be the odd person here that has the same affinity for motorcycle garments and could hence offer their thoughts. Just the same, I take no offence and appreciate your gentle candor. Thanks again and enjoy the balance of the day. Til next time...

Thank you for your kind response. It’s alway a slippery slope when trying to offer advice to people but you were very kind and considerate in your response .
Thank you

If it had been a 50’s Buco or the like you might have had some luck, there are a few chaps here who know their way around vintage bike jackets, but more modern stuff like this is a different animal. As Burt says, there were loads of companies making them, all over the world, and with a shed load of models available. It’s probably European, possibly German, and you’re probably right about something like Heineken Geriatric-sorry, Hein Gericke. That’s about all she wrote. The only other thing you might try is to see if anything similar shows up on EBay or the like for comparison.

Hey Cgreen,

You can try asking "uncle" Google and use various phrases regarding stampings from zippers, and information available from the tag [if I see correctly, you still have one, not the main one but still maybe this can be used]. Gladly I do not have any interest in red leather jackets, but I'm sure that for some people [who like for example Jacko or early Mötley Crüe or Cinderella] this can be a cool wearable item. Otherwise...

Thanks Erwin, the classic black can't be beat, but I do love me some coloured leather so my ears are always pricked up when I hear of red, blue or purple editions. Sadly, ID-ing the manufacturer will be all but impossible with any certainty but it's a fun piece just the same. Will give the 'ol Google a go. Enjoy the weekend.

I remember in the 80's those coloured biker leathers were popular, especially among a lot of girls I knew and those into metal, they actually make a come back, I see a lot of people wearing red leather here in Spain

Steve wasn't Lewis leather used in the movie the battle of Britain?

""The Battle Of Britain was filmed in 1968 and released the following year, actor Manfred Reddemann playing Major Falke wears a Lewis Leathers jacket (along with the other Luftwaffe actors) in his scenes, the jacket was commissioned to resemble the type of leathers worn by German pilots in WW2."
