If I have not said so before, Marcel, I really enjoy your photo posts. The homely day-to-day life captured in many of them speaks volumes about the tedium and melancholy of war. Thanks.

The 5th photo down is Major Ralph Jenkins standing next
to the motto of the 510th. Jenkins was the C.O. of the
510th. Thus the unit was called "Jenkins Jerry Junkers".
I have the original negative for this same photo.

Here's a shot of the 510th Fighter Squadrons patch.
It's on a jacket that I have. The grouping is from one of
pilots of the 510th. He had 1.5 air victories, and another
4 on the ground. 3 were ME-262's. It's one of my favorites!

What a great jacket and patch. Am I wrong or is this an Aero jacket. Would it be possible to add some pics of the complete jacket here??

Thanks,

Shiloh

Hey Shiloh,
Yes, it is a Aero. Here's a full shot per your request.

Thank you very much for posting these pictures. What a great jacket and what a condition after 65-70 years. I like the reddish undertone very much and the thickness of the leather.

Regards,

Shiloh

Nice jacket as usual Jeff!
Here's my 21996 post restoration (JC sold me the bits to finish it off, hence the GW label and my knumbskull repairer messed up the label fixing), very similar looking jacket.

Did anyone notice in the one photo the A-24 (USN SBD) in the background, not too many were used by the AAF,a rather rare shot of one in AAF use.
