Anyone know him? Not that any of us would jump at this but warning about this seller.

Yes, the seller is a former member. I'm not sure that's phishing, perhaps he simply had a buyer that backed out.

He's always been a straight shooter as far as I know. I noticed his reserve was 2k on the first auction. Like Deeb mentioned, maybe the guy backed out. I've had plenty of flake buyers on eBay lately. Especially since they changed the feedback system with sellers not being able to leave negatives.

The Seller (Simon) is fine, was a member here and is very knowlegable and trustworthy. I don't know what happened but I'd say it's all ligit.

Simon bought the jacket for around the current BIN price. The guy who won it in the first auction had over 540 positive feedbacks and bid it up to the reserve, so was an experienced Ebayer, not a newby who pulled out after the auction ended. I'm not sure why the sale didn't go through, but did wonder whether it has something to do with the loss Simon would have made had the sale gone through. We have all heard of people enlisting their friends to inflate an auction in the hope that someone else might come in at the last moment and win the jacket. I hope this wasn't the case here. I have bought from Simon in the past without any problems.

I'd buy from Simon in a heartbeat (if I had the dough). He's been kind enough to show me some amazing jackets and patches that have been in his collection. Hope he makes it to NYC again soon.
