Going to add shoulder/squadron patches to an A2.
I suspect there were regulations re; patch placement on A2's during WW!!. Anybody have a link to a site with uniform regs or know off hand what the regulation placement was?

They were all over the place, but I'm pretty sure 1/2" from the top seam centered is regulation but can't find my officers guide.

Came across this, showing postion of a shoulder decal....1" below the seam, centered on the epaulette. That may just be that manufacturers recommendation.;

I recall somebody posting a link to the actual regs. re; shoulder/chest patch positioning.
Can't find it now.
The squadron patch supposed to be positioned so many inches from the edge of the zipper, so many inches above the pocket....name tag so many inches above that.

Thought so, when I stitch on SSI, it's centered at the back epaullette edge 1/2" from the seam connecting the sleeve and shoulder, some will use the center of the epaulette to center the patch, but the back edge being the peak makes more sense for me and never fails, looks sharp as nails. Also, use the back seam running down the arm to square off the patch. Best way I can explain, make sense? Also, am I spelling epaulette right? :)

Squadron / Group patches are a little tricky because of size measurements, I always center between the collar point and pocket vertically equal (name tag needs consideration), and centered between the inner most stitching of whatever side it's on. I'll try to put a diagram together if my explanation is confusing to some.

As stated, the officer's guide has the information you seek. You can get one fairly inexpensive on the bay or at a militaria show.
