Excuse my ignorance but were decals around in the late 30's 40's? I always thought such artwork was painted on by the unit's wanna be artists? Does look legit though, I must admit but that price, wow. I cant imagine who'd buy it??

Yes, decals were around. The most commonly seen decal based AAF patch is the ATC patch. Many USN patches were also decal based. This AVG piece is awesome, but what the heck would a person do with it? Alot of other guys must feel the same since its been for sale off and on since last summer.
