Sigh! Been out for a while and today's example is not a flight jacket itself, but rather one of the rarest deck jackets out there.
Introduced in 1941, the Deck Zippered jacket was the first model adopted by U.S. Navy personnel during WWII. This earliest jacket's zipper would freeze in cold weather, making it difficult to operate and prone to salt water corrosion, reducing the life span of the jacket. In 1943 this model was replaced by the improved version with hooks.
Throughout WWIl, the deck jacket became an iconic symbol of U.S. Navy operations worldwide, and since then, it has been a highly coveted piece among collectors.
Now, if you think the Hook version is hard to find, this Zippered version is almost impossible.
The grade of preservation of this example is fantastic, considering it is over 80 years old. All parts are original and fully functional.
Needless to say, this example would be hard to upgrade.
Enough said, enjoy it!

Jorge
