Nothing beats an original, except if it is an original and new old stock.
This is an example of the third model from the N-3 series, a Vietnam era Type N-3B Flying Jacket made by the prolific Skyline Clothing Corporation in fiscal year, 1969.
The N-3B, which was adopted around 1953 and continued to be used in the USAF for about 50 years (with some modifications), is an aircrew jacket that will work under the Heavy Zone weather (-10 to -30 degrees C). It was developed and issued for the winter cold weather clothing. Real coyote fur was used for the hood trimming of the model that was issued during the early to mid period and was later replaced by synthethic material.
After MIL-J-6279H, the N-3B changed its classification from flight jacket to parka for extreme cold regions, and became ground clothing.
The condition of this example is superb! It could easily be mistaken by a high end modern reproduction, but it is over 55 years old. The shell is spotless, which is very rare. The genuine coyote fur is immaculate. All buttons are present and Scovill zippers are intact.
As a bonus the cutter tags still attached inside the pockets.
Hope you guys enjoy it!
Regards,
Jorge
