Gents,
Today I would like to share an interesting nylon example, the L-2B. This specific jacket was made by Rolen Sportswear Company under contract number AF-36-(600) 6471, in the fiscal year 1959.
The MIL-J-7448C is the fourth model of the L-2B, which has a beautiful silver lining. The L-2B was tested in a very short period of time immediately after the Korean War, and is the most successful light zone jacket for the L-2 series deployed on the front line.
This jacket belonged to Major George G. Grundy, who served in Korea and was released from active duty in 1961.
The example is in great condition, considering it is over 60 years old. All parts are genuine to the jacket. Oxygen mask tab is in perfect shape. Blackened Conmar zippers and snaps look and work perfectly. It has a couple of moth holes on knits, which are common due to the nature of the material.
Right chest depicts a 32nd Air Division patch.
Both epaulets depict Major rank insignia.
Left shoulder depicts a color printed U.S. AIR FORCE logo still in good shape.
Hope you guys enjoy it!
Regards,
Jorge
