This time I would like to share a rare bird; this example is a FLITE WEAR jacket most likely issued to McDonnell Douglas Testing Division pilots.
The construction of this model has some similarities to the NASA flight jacket, being the outer shell made of the same blue fabric cloth, but this one has included zippered pockets on both chests. Also the black knits ribs cuffs, collar and waistband are the same found on her sister. Now the interior is a different story; this model has a fully reversible orange fabric cloth interior with the same external features which makes it more practical for emergencies, a double sided Conmar zipper was used for this purpose on the front.
The condition of this jacket is pristine, which is extremely rare, considering it was issued on the late 60’s and no patches were ever sewn on it.
As a side note, I’ve seen a couple around the web adorned with McDonnell Douglas Test Division patches, but there is not much info about them.
Say no more guys, enjoy it!
Regards,
Jorge
