ORIGINAL FLITE WEAR INSULATED FLIGHT SUIT

After seeing a wide variety of flight suits and jackets made by Land Mfg, I'm still fascinated when I find new prototypes like this Flite Wear orange insulated flight suit.

This example would be a fusion between the K-2B (external design) and CWU-1/P (internal insulation). The quality in the construction is as good as the military version, as expected.

These prototypes were widely used by NASA astronauts and test pilots during 60's and 70's.

The condition of this piece is mint, which is amazing considering its age.

Another piece of flight wear history there. Btw, the character in the picture above is Donald L. Mallick, a former NASA test pilot who wrote a great autobiographical book called "The smell of kerosene". The book is available to download in .pdf format here:
